Traditionally, cows produced milk with A2/A2 beta-casein protein. Over time, a mutated A1 gene worked its way into dairy cattle. Cows today produce a combination of A1 and A2 proteins, creating a type of milk that is relatively new to the human body and may be more difficult to digest. We choose cows that while roaming our pastures only make A2/A2 milk. It’s most natural to the body and easily absorbed. You can trust that our milk is always 100% pure A2/A2. Our milk is milk the way cows were intended to produce, old fashioned milk.
We verify this by submitting DNA to a lab to ensure the cow carries strictly the A2/A2 gene. If you’d like to know more, we encourage you to google it. We like these articles: Healthline, Research Gate (A1vsA2), Research Gate (BCM7), Bio Med Nutrition Journal, Arizona DHIA, and Medical News Today.
Our Pasture Promise seal is our family’s commitment to you towards quality grazing of our pastures with cows and chickens. We accomplish this through biodiversity of plant species and biodynamic green pastures. Our mild temperate weather allows for the soil, land, and pasture to be alive every day of the year, averaging 54-65 degrees throughout the whole year. In doing so, we ensure that the pasture our cows eat is green and alive year-round. Our annual rainfall of over 76 inches allows for grass growth 365 days a year.
Our integrity towards grazing our cows and chickens has to do with green, living and grazing on pastures over 280 days a year. We utilize these critters to sequester carbon through planned grazing, our promise to grazing is essential to our regenerative organic farm.
Our organic values extend into our personal lives affecting what we eat, how we live, and the products we use on a daily basis. As stewards of the land, we want to put healthy nutrients back into the soil we work. We believe that we are enhancing and sustaining the land for future generations. We honor the soil biology of the land, its animals, and the people that eat our products, which results in quality nutrition you can see and taste. The organic foods we produce are free of chemicals, herbicides, pesticides, synthetic hormones, and antibiotics. These same organic values guide us with regard to soil quality, how to raise animals, pest and weed control, genetically modified organisms, and the use of other input materials. Each of our products is raised on 100% organic land, forage, and feed. Organic standards transcend to the processing level of our products including regulations prohibiting artificial preservatives, dyes, and flavors with annual food safety audits.
Our Alexandre Family Farm and Alexandre Kids Eggs organic certifications mean that we are United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF). On top of this third party organic certifcation, we are also Non-GMO Project Verified. Although certified organic means Non-GMO, we added the Non-GMO seal for those that do not recognize that.
